Prime Digital is a digital marketing agency, founder-led, running for 12 years. Google Ads is our primary specialism, alongside Meta and Microsoft Ads. We work with service businesses and e-commerce brands across the UK and US.

We’re hiring a Senior Google Ads Account Strategist. The role is fully remote and open to candidates internationally, with the right timezone overlap and native or near-native English. If you’re at an agency where quality has given way to volume, or where the tools and processes haven’t moved on in years, this is probably worth a read.

THE ROLE

You’d work closely with Christian (founder, 15 years in strategic marketing) and Luke, our senior strategist. You’d own a book of 10 to 15 active accounts day-to-day: a mix of higher-touch strategic accounts on a weekly rhythm and steady-state accounts on a monthly one. Monthly budgets range from £2,000 to £50,000. Verticals are mostly lead-gen across legal, home services, tech, and SaaS, with some e-commerce.

This is a hands-on role. You’d be running the accounts, not delegating them. Builds, optimisations, search term reviews, ad copy, reporting, the day-to-day work of keeping accounts performing. We’re not looking for someone who wants to step back from the platform. We’re looking for someone who’s still happy in the work and brings strategic judgement to it.

How the role splits, roughly:

  • 35% account management and execution: running the accounts day to day, builds, optimisations, in-platform work
  • 30% strategy and problem-solving: diagnosing issues, identifying opportunities, building roadmaps, owning performance
  • 25% client management: calls, quarterly reviews, strategic planning conversations
  • 10% internal and collaboration: working with the team on harder strategic challenges, contributing to how we work

You’d be expected to think strategically about your accounts and own the calls that move performance. When an account gets stuck, we get on a call together and work through it. You wouldn’t be solving hard problems alone.

HOW WE WORK

Most agencies are still figuring out how to use AI. We’ve built it in as infrastructure.

Over the last year we’ve built a set of custom AI tools that run the systematic parts of our workflow: search term analysis, persona research, ad creative, audits, reporting. The work that usually fills a strategist’s calendar at other agencies, the reporting, the first-pass audits, the creative drafting, happens in minutes here. What takes time is the strategic thinking those outputs feed into, which is the part worth spending time on.

Our proprietary reporting platform sits alongside this. It shows how users actually engage with client websites at the point of conversion: what they click, where they hesitate, where the funnel loses people. These are client-facing dashboards. They let us optimise the full conversion path, not just the ad account.

We’re continuing to develop these systems, and you’d be part of that. You won’t be bolting AI onto your workflow here. You’ll be working inside a system already built around it, and helping shape how it evolves.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4+ years running Google Ads, ideally agency-side with multiple accounts
  • Genuinely happy being deep in accounts day to day. This isn’t a step-back-from-the-platform role
  • Strong with Search and PMax, comfortable across the modern Google Ads toolkit
  • Lead-gen experience
  • Strategic instincts. You diagnose problems and own the calls that solve them, you don’t just execute
  • Improved underperforming accounts before, with numbers you can talk through
  • Good in client conversations, including the harder ones
  • Comfortable with AI in your workflow, or genuinely keen to learn. We use it day to day, so it’s important
  • Based somewhere with at least five hours of overlap with GMT working hours. In practice this means the UK, Ireland, Europe, or the Americas. Native or near-native English essential

Nice to have: Microsoft Ads, GA4 beyond the basics, landing page and CRO instincts, e-commerce alongside lead-gen.

  • £40,000 base salary
